Platform Transparency

How Various Archives selects sellers, displays listings, organises discovery, and handles reports or removals.

Who Is Referenced on Various Archives

Various Archives references professional sellers only. This includes boutiques, online stores, showrooms, consignment specialists, dealers, and professional collectors operating in a professional capacity.

We do not reference private individuals selling occasionally.

How Sellers Are Selected

Seller onboarding is curated and reviewed manually. We consider alignment with luxury, designer, and archival fashion, clarity of curation, professional indicators, reputation, operational readiness, and verification materials where relevant.

How Listings Are Displayed

Listings come from sellers' Shopify product catalogs through Various Archives Connector. They may include prices, currencies, availability, photos, descriptions, condition details, and an outbound link to the seller's product page and Shopify checkout.

Each seller describes condition according to their own standards. The seller's product page remains the source of truth for any specific item.

How Ranking and Discovery Work

Various Archives organises listings through a combination of user-controlled filters, sorting, search, and editorial selection. We do not use profiling-based recommender systems.

Filters

Visitors can browse using filters such as brand, size, category, seller location, condition, price, collectability, colour, and era. Filter choices control the result set shown to each visitor.

Sorting

Where available, visitors can sort results by options such as newest, trending, price low to high, and price high to low. The default order may evolve to support discovery and marketplace quality.

Editorial Selections

We may highlight themed selections in edits, headers, or seasonal features. These are editorial choices and are not paid placement.

A trending indicator, where displayed, reflects aggregated on-site signals such as listing views, clicks, wishlist saves where available, and recency. Payment from sellers is not used to calculate trending.

Various Archives does not offer paid placement, sponsored ranking, or paid prominence. Sellers cannot pay to influence their position in search, filters, sorting, trending, or editorial sections.

If paid placement is introduced in the future, it will be disclosed clearly and labelled where it affects results.

Removal, Suspension, and Restriction

We may warn, restrict, suspend, or remove a seller or listing where there is a trust, legal, authenticity, safety, quality, or platform integrity concern.

  • Confirmed or attempted sale of counterfeit goods.
  • Deceptive commercial practices, including misrepresentation of provenance, condition, or pricing.
  • Repeated verified buyer complaints.
  • Failure to provide requested verification information.
  • Attempts to circumvent commission on referred transactions.
  • Repeated unprofessional conduct or sustained unresponsiveness.
  • Conduct that could harm users, sellers, merchants, or the integrity of the platform.
  • A seller request to be removed.

Appeals and Statements of Reasons

A seller subject to suspension or removal may appeal by emailing contact@various-archives.com within 14 days of the decision.

When we restrict or remove content, suspend a seller, or take similar action, we provide a statement of reasons to the affected party where required by applicable law.

Reporting Illegal Content

If you believe a listing or seller content is illegal, counterfeit, or infringing, email contact@various-archives.com with the Various Archives URL, seller URL if relevant, the reason for your report, and supporting information.
